The Count Is Up!

20 Sep

We are entering the third week of the AmeriCorps Fellows program and we have 26 W&J Fellows.  In three weeks we added 16 new Fellows to our service family.  This week many of the Fellows will be volunteering with Family Promise of Southwestern, PA and will be spending time with families in-need.

The group will have our third meeting of the semester this evening and tonight we will be reviewing confidentiality when working with youth.

All of the service will begin in October. STAY TUNED!

Welcome AmeriCorps Fellows 2011-2012

6 Sep

The W&J Office of Volunteer Programs is excited to welcome 14 new AmeriCorps Fellows. These students are committed to engaging in 300 hours of service over the course of one calendar year.  The service will involve serving as mentors/tutors in the Washington Community.

This blog will serve as a way for us to share our experiences and have an on-line conversation about the meaning of service.

Our fist meeting is Tuesday, September 6.  Stay tuned…..
